On behalf of the Board of Directors, I have the pleasure of announcing that Mr. David Hurford will be joining the organization on January 4, 2017 in the role of Chief Executive Officer. The Board took this decision extremely seriously interviewing many potential candidates, and we are very excited that David is joining us.
David has an abundance of experience, having worked most recently as the Executive Director of Safe Care BC where his focus was to engage Long Term Care facilities, such as 3 Links, on improving workplace safety for all workers. There he worked with unions, WorkSafeBC, employers across the province and contracted staff with great effect and success.
Previously, David worked in senior management positions with the University of British Columbia, Community Living British Columbia, City of Vancouver and the BC Care Providers Association – of which 3 Links is a member. In addition he has vast experience in areas of Policy development with various levels of government including working directly for the Federal Ministry of Health in Ottawa for four years.
He is a most welcoming man who is very excited to meet with you all. He is a resident of the Vancouver area where is helping raise his daughter, and is very passionate about the residents and staff in Long Term Care as well as Social Housing.
Please join me in welcoming David to our organization and community.
I would also like to recognize the efforts of Marie Olsson who has most capably executed the role of Interim CEO as the search progressed. Marie has done a wonderful job of keeping things moving and ensuring the mission of our Societies was front and centre of activities and discussions during this five month period. The balance of the Management Team – Faria, Georgina and Heather – have also contributed very well and we thank them for their endeavor and support. I would like to personally thank all of you for your hard work and diligence to ensuring a high quality of care for our residents.
David Procter
President of the Three Links Care Society Board
