The warmest volunteer is someone who demonstrates a mixture of enthusiasm, collaborative spirit, adaptability, and resilience in all they try to do for Three Links and its residents. More than anything, their presence in the community is, in itself, rewarding and valuable for all members of the community.

Karen Mende, who has been at Three Links for almost a year, as is helping out as a meal encourage, has been a beacon of kindness and affection. She mentions “joining Three Links….to get involved in the neighbourhood” and because of a recent loss in her family, all motivating her to develop meaningful connections and give back to older members of the community.

“Touched and surprised” by the award, she commented on how she felt like she gave so little for so much back. We hope that Three Links is able to benefit for many more years from Karen’s modest and warm spirit.
